What We Do

Literacy Programs

An open free library of books are provided for students at elementary schools. Free to choose, take, keep, share with others, or give to family members.

 

Key Club Sponsorship

South San Francisco Kiwanis sponsors clubs at two local high schools. Key Club is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through service to others. 

 

High School Scholarships

Several scholarships are awarded each year to graduating high school seniors who in academics and/or exhibit the Kiwanis values. 

 

Hunger Prevention Programs

Second Harvest Food Bank: Our club members and Key Club students, frequently volunteer at the local food bank to prepare bags of food for families that might otherwise go hungry.

Holiday Food Drives: Along with personal donations, members help distribute food during the holiday season.

 

Special Games

A yearly district wide event held at a community college. Sure to touch your heart, hundreds of students with special needs participate in athletic contests, complete with the regalia of an opening ceremony.
